German Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt have terminated contract of Cameroonian defender Jerome Onguéné.
The 27-year-old leaves the club without a single first-team appearance due to injury setbacks at the club.
Onguéné joined Frankfurt in 2022 but failed to glitter for the club due to persistent injuries.
His progress at Frankfurt was hindered by injuries, leading to unsuccessful loan spells at Servette (Switzerland) and Salzburg (Austria).
Since his last cap with Cameroon during the 2021 AFCON, Onguéné’s career trajectory has been on a downward spiral.
Currently a free agent, Onguéné has reportedly attracted interest from several clubs. Ligue 2’s AC Ajaccio, facing relegation concerns, is considering a short-term contract for the defender.
Meanwhile, clubs in Austria and Belgium are said to be considering a move for the once-promising defender.
