Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has urged English-Nigerian winger Bukayo Saka to maintain a positive body language during his injury absence on the sidelines.
The young winger sustained the injury during the team’s emphatic 5-1 victory against Crystal Palace, leaving the pitch in the first half and later seen on crutches.
This injury is particularly troubling as it marks Saka’s third hamstring issue this season, following previous setbacks in October and November.
The team will need to adapt quickly as they face a demanding schedule ahead, including crucial matches against Ipswich and Tottenham.
“He was gutted. You can tell that he’s not been injured because he was really, really emotional. He was really down and we need to lift him up because it’s part of what we do,” Arteta said.
“It’s part of what he does. It’s part of his job, big part of his job, he will be fine, but I think he’s going to need a few days. He’s going to immediately realize that he’s so important in that dressing room.
“So his energy level, his body language, the way he communicates with the rest of the team has to be really, really good because it’s the only way at the moment that he can help. So he better do that well.”
Saka has been key for Arsenal this season as he is their highest goal contributor in all competitions this season.
He has 22 goals and assists across all competitions this campaign.
