Ittihad Tanger add Netherlands-Morocco winger Soufyan Ahannach to Botola squad

Soufyan Ahannach, the Netherlands-Morocco left winger, has joined Ittihad Tanger from El-Mansour on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old has signed a contract with the Moroccan club until 30 June 2027, completing his latest move within the Botola Pro Inwi. Ahannach’s arrival was completed on 13 August 2026.

Ahannach moves to Ittihad Tanger after a spell with El-Mansour, whom he joined from Union Touarga on a free transfer in January 2025. His previous club was also in Morocco, continuing a run of transfers that has kept the Amsterdam-born attacker in the country’s domestic game.

The right-footed winger has played 53 times in the Botola Pro Inwi, scoring twice and providing six assists. He also has a substantial record in the Netherlands’ second tier, where he made 136 appearances in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, scoring 37 goals and registering 36 assists.

That record includes his time at Almere City, the club where he began his senior career, and FC Den Bosch. Ahannach joined Brighton from Almere City for €600,000 in August 2017, but spent parts of his time with the English club on loan at Sparta Rotterdam and Union Saint-Gilloise.

He later returned to the Netherlands with Go Ahead Eagles before moving abroad again. In July 2022, Ahannach joined Al-Arabi on a free transfer from FC Den Bosch. A loan spell at Al-Rawdah SC followed during the 2022-23 season, before he returned to Al-Arabi.

Ahannach then moved to Morocco, joining Wydad AC in August 2023. He switched to Union Touarga in January 2024 and subsequently moved to El-Mansour, giving him experience across several Moroccan clubs before his transfer to Ittihad Tanger.

The attacker’s career also includes appearances in the Eredivisie, Premier League 2, the Saudi First Division League and international club competitions including the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.

Born in Amsterdam on 9 September 1995, Ahannach stands 1.79m tall and represents both Dutch and Moroccan football backgrounds through his nationality. He now begins a new chapter with Ittihad Tanger under a contract running until June 2027.
