Ayoub Ghezala has vowed that his team will approach their upcoming match against Al Hilal with a determination to secure victory, regardless of the challenges presented by playing behind closed doors.
The encounter, which is crucial for qualification, will take place at the 5-Juillet stadium, where Ghezala and his teammates are determined to continue their strong performance.
Reflecting on the team’s return to training following their impressive 3-0 win over the Young Africans, Ghezala expressed a positive mindset.
Everyone found a smile after winning this match against the Young Africans in style,” said the midfielder.
The resumption went well, and now we are focused on Saturday’s match.
The victory over the Young Africans was particularly significant, as it came in front of an empty stadium due to the closed-door restriction.
Despite this challenge, Ghezala praised his team’s resilience. “Absolutely.
Everyone was happy because it was not easy to win this match behind closed doors.
We fought with our guts to pocket the three points. We are very happy to have answered the call,” he added.
Though his team dominated the game, the victory was not secured easily.
It took until the 60th minute for Abdellaoui to score the crucial opening goal, followed by Bayazid’s effort that sealed the win.
It wasn’t easy, especially since we couldn’t find the fault.
We dominated the game but we lacked success,” Ghezala said.
And then, there was this goal from Abdellaoui that changed the game.
Afterwards, we had to intelligently manage this lead on the scoreboard before Bayazid scored the goal that would end the game.
Looking ahead to the match against Group A leaders Al Hilal, Ghezala acknowledged the importance of building on their recent success.
We overcame the Indian sign by renewing with success at the 5-Juillet stadium.
Now, we must confirm this victory next Saturday against Al Hilal,” he said. “It will be another match just as complicated.
Ghezala also stressed the need to maintain their focus, especially with the absence of fans in the stadium once again.
Winning without conceding a single goal against the Tanzanian team is very important for confidence before playing the Sudanese club.
Unfortunately, we will have to perform once again, behind closed doors,” he explained.
Despite the hurdles, the midfielder remained optimistic.
We will have to play the leader of the group without the support of our supporters.
And yet, we will have to go for the victory with our guts.
We will be very united to overcome Al Hilal,” Ghezala concluded, setting the stage for what promises to be a decisive clash in the race for qualification.
