Morocco defender Yassine El Ghazouani leaves Beni Mellal for O. Khouribga

Morocco centre-back Yassine El Ghazouani has joined O. Khouribga on a free transfer from Beni Mellal, completing his latest move in Moroccan football.

The 29-year-old defender’s switch was completed on 21 August 2026. El Ghazouani, who was born in Khenifra, has become an O. Khouribga player after spending the latter part of the 2025-26 season with Beni Mellal.

He joined Beni Mellal from Wydad Fes on 6 January 2026, also on a free transfer. His move to O. Khouribga represents another change of club for a player who has remained within Morocco’s domestic game throughout his senior career.

El Ghazouani has recorded 88 appearances in the Botola Pro Inwi, contributing three assists. He has also featured nine times in the Coupe du Trone Marocaine. Those appearances make up the main body of his competitive experience as he takes up his latest role in central defence.

The defender began his club career with Khenifra Res. before moving to CA Khenifra in July 2017. He stayed with the Khenifra club until August 2021, when he joined JS Soualem on a free transfer.

El Ghazouani later moved from JS Soualem to MAS Fes in August 2023, again without a transfer fee. He then switched to Moghreb Tetouan in September 2024 before joining CA Khenifra for a second spell in January 2025. Both of those moves were also recorded as free transfers.

The player’s route through Moroccan football has included spells with Khenifra Res., CA Khenifra, JS Soualem, MAS Fes, Moghreb Tetouan, Wydad Fes and Beni Mellal. His arrival gives O. Khouribga a centre-back with experience across the Botola Pro Inwi and the Moroccan cup competition.

El Ghazouani, who stands 1.84 metres tall, now continues his career with O. Khouribga after completing a free transfer from Beni Mellal.
