Morocco has secured a prominent presence in all categories of the 2024 CAF Women’s Awards, with several top players and coaches recognized for their exceptional performances.
Published on Wednesday, the list features key Moroccan figures, including AS FAR’s Sanaa Mssoudy, nominated for Player of the Year, and goalkeeper Khadija Er-Rmichi, who is in the running for the Goalkeeper of the Year title.
Mssoudy and Er-Rmichi also appear on the Interclub Player of the Year shortlist, alongside their teammate Doha El Madani.
El Madani is also vying for the Young Player of the Year award, competing with notable names like Lina Mokhtar Jamai, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain.
In the coaching categories, two Moroccan coaches—Mohamed Amine Alioua, who led AS FAR to the Women’s Champions League final, and Lamia Boumehdi, who guided TP Mazembe to their first-ever title—are nominated for Coach of the Year.
The Moroccan national team and AS FAR are also contenders for National Women’s Team of the Year and Club of the Year, respectively.
The 2024 CAF Awards, covering the period from January to October 2024, will be held on December 16 in Marrakech.
The winners will be determined by votes from the CAF Technical Committee, media professionals, coaches, captains, and clubs involved in CAF competitions.
