Villarreal winger Alex Baena has lauded Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson, highlighting his significant improvement and impact since joining Chelsea.
According to Baena, Jackson has transformed into one of the top strikers in the English Premier League, contributing to the Blues’ aspirations for a top-four finish or even a title challenge this season.
Baena, who shared the pitch with Jackson during their time at Villarreal, spoke highly of the 22-year-old in an interview with talkSPORT.com.
“We were together for three or four years here at Villarreal,” Baena reminisced and added “He’s a fantastic guy, a great person. We’ve had a great connection off the pitch.”
Reflecting on Jackson’s development, Baena emphasized the striker’s commitment to refining his skills.
“On the pitch, he’s always sought to improve his quality to better connect with his teammates. This year, he’s significantly improved his ball control and his ability to associate with others on the field,” Baena explained.
Baena also praised Jackson’s scoring ability, noting, “He’s got great potential, and he’s been showing it this year. He’s scored a lot of goals.”
Jackson’s performances have been pivotal for Chelsea this season. His goal-scoring prowess and improved link-up play have bolstered the team’s attacking options as they aim to reclaim their status among England’s elite.
