Nottingham Forest have confirmed their decision to part ways with Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis, who is expected to leave the club during the upcoming winter transfer window. The 27-year-old’s time at Forest, which began with his signing in August 2022, is now officially over.
After a year marked by limited opportunities in the Premier League, Dennis spent the 2023-2024 season on loan.
First, he joined Turkish Super Lig side Basaksehir, before moving to English Championship team Watford, where he managed a respectable return of four goals in 17 appearances.
Despite this form, Dennis failed to convince Forest’s management to reintegrate him into the first-team squad upon his return.
In the summer of 2024, Forest made it clear they no longer saw a future for Dennis at the club, offering him the chance to leave.
However, the striker was adamant about staying and fighting for a place in the team.
His determination was not enough, as he has since been excluded from manager Nuno Espirito Santo’s Premier League squad for the 2024-2025 season.
As the winter transfer window approaches, Nottingham Forest are now actively exploring options for Dennis’ departure, with a loan or permanent transfer being considered.
Reports indicate that clubs in Saudi Arabia and Belgium are already showing interest, and formal offers could be made in the coming weeks.
Dennis, who has made a name for himself as a versatile forward, will be looking to secure a move that revitalizes his career, with both the player and club eager to part ways in the new year.
