Togolese striker Kevin Denkey has officially signed with FC Cincinnati for the 2025 MLS season, with the club securing his services until 2028.
The 23-year-old forward’s transfer marks a major milestone, as the Ohio-based franchise paid a record €16 million to Cercle Bruges to bring him to Major League Soccer.
Denkey’s departure from Belgium won’t come until December 15, 2024, when he will finalize the move to Cincinnati. The prolific striker, who was the Belgian Pro League’s top scorer in the 2023-24 season with 27 goals, has been a standout performer in Europe. With over 200 professional appearances, 78 goals, and 22 assists, Denkey has earned 38 caps for Togo, scoring 9 goals for his national team.
So far this season, he has netted seven goals in 13 league appearances and a total of 11 goals in 23 matches across all competitions. Denkey will officially join FC Cincinnati as a Designated Player when the MLS main transfer window opens in 2025, with a contract option for 2029.
