Zamalek save more than $500,000 after Seifeddine Jaziri contract terminated

Zamalek have saved more than $500,000 by reaching an agreement to terminate Seifeddine Jaziri’s contract, according to a club source.

The Tunisia striker’s deal was cancelled by mutual consent, freeing Zamalek from the cost of his final season under the contract.

A source from the Cairo club told FilGoal.com: “The termination of Seifeddine Jaziri’s contract saved Zamalek more than half a million dollars, which was the value of his contract in his final season.”

The source added: “Hossam El-Mandouh, the club treasurer, and Hussein El-Sayed, a member of the club’s board of directors, played an important role in completing the negotiations with Jaziri to terminate his contract by mutual consent.”

Zamalek confirmed the end of the 33-year-old’s time at the club, with his agent Hazem Fotouh present as the agreement was completed.

The two parties settled the player’s contract amicably, bringing to an end Jaziri’s spell with the Egyptian club. He leaves as Zamalek’s all-time leading goalscorer among foreign players.

Jaziri will now be free to join any club without a transfer fee and play for them during the next season.

Jaziri’s Zamalek record

Jaziri joined Zamalek in 2021 from Arab Contractors. During his final season, he appeared in 22 matches for the club and scored four goals.

Across his time with Zamalek, he played 185 matches, scoring 48 goals and providing 19 assists.

His spell in the white shirt produced a series of major honours. Jaziri won the Egyptian League three times, the Egypt Cup twice, the CAF Super Cup once and the CAF Confederation Cup once.

The decision to end his contract follows an amicable settlement between the player and the club, with the financial terms of his final season forming the main part of the agreement. Zamalek’s negotiations were handled by El-Mandouh and El-Sayed, who helped reach a conclusion that allowed both sides to part company by consent.

Jaziri’s departure also marks the end of a notable period in Zamalek’s recent history. Since arriving from Arab Contractors in 2021, the Tunisia international had been part of teams that secured four different honours, including three Egyptian League titles and continental success in the CAF Super Cup and CAF Confederation Cup.

Although he scored four times in 22 appearances during his final campaign, his overall record of 48 goals makes him the most prolific foreign player in Zamalek’s history. He leaves the club without a transfer fee attached to his next move and can sign for a new team ahead of the forthcoming season.
