Achraf Hakimi makes history with four remarkable records after PSG hat-trick
Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi reached four significant milestones after producing a historic performance in Paris Saint-Germain’s 5-1 victory over Le Havre in the ninth round of the French Ligue 1.
The 27-year-old right-back scored three goals and provided two assists, contributing directly to all five of PSG’s goals in an outstanding display.
His hat-trick was the first of his professional career, while his five goal contributions in a single match represented another personal record for the Moroccan international across club and national team football.
According to Erem News, Hakimi’s performance also saw him enter the French league’s history books through three additional achievements.
Hakimi records five goal contributions in one match
The first milestone was his involvement in all five of PSG’s goals against Le Havre.
Hakimi scored three times and provided two assists, recording five direct goal contributions in a single match for the first time in his career.
It was an exceptional return for a player operating primarily as a right-back.
First career hat-trick for Moroccan star
The second achievement was the first hat-trick of Hakimi’s professional career.
The defender found the net three times against Le Havre, reaching a personal milestone after previously representing several clubs and the Moroccan national team without scoring three goals in one match.
First defender to score a Ligue 1 hat-trick since Youcef Atal
Hakimi also became the first defender to score a hat-trick in Ligue 1 since April 2019.
The previous player to achieve the feat was Algerian international Youcef Atal, who scored three goals while playing for Nice.
The Moroccan’s performance therefore ended a run of more than seven years without a defender recording a hat-trick in the French top flight.
First Moroccan Ligue 1 hat-trick since Sofiane Boufal
The fourth milestone concerned Moroccan players in the competition.
Hakimi became the first Moroccan to score a hat-trick in Ligue 1 since Sofiane Boufal achieved the feat for Lille in 2016.
His three-goal performance against Le Havre added another landmark to his career and further strengthened his place among Morocco’s most prominent football stars.
