Yasser Larouci: AlgerianFrench free agent linked with MC Algiers move

AlgerianFrench left-back Yasser Larouci, currently a free agent after leaving ESTAC Troyes, is being linked with a switch to MC Algiers from his Without Club status in the Algerian top flights latest transfer speculation.

Larouci, 25, saw his contract with Troyes run down at the end of June 2026 before being formally registered as without a club on 1 July. Transfermarkt lists his current market value at 1.50m, and the rumour, dated 4 July, indicates interest from MC Algiers, although the probability of any deal is still marked as ? and no agreement has been reported.

Born in El Oued on 1 January 2001 and standing at 1.76m, the leftfooter holds both Algerian and French nationality and is primarily deployed as a defender at leftback. He is able to move on a free transfer, which makes him an attractive option in a market where specialist full-backs with toplevel experience are often expensive.

Larouci arrives on the market after a nomadic few seasons across Europe. Having developed at Le Havres academy, he joined Liverpools youth setup in 2017, progressing from the U18s to Liverpool U21 before a permanent move to Troyes in July 2021. Loan spells to Sheffield United (202324), Watford (202425) and Greek side AE Kifisia (202526) followed, before he returned to Troyes and then became a free agent this summer.

His market value peaked at 3.5m during his time at Troyes and later at Watford, but dropped back to 1.5m by March 2026 while on loan at Kifisia, where his last recorded updates came in June. Details of his most recent individual match performances are not provided in the current data, though his loan in Greece ensured regular exposure to senior football last season.

If MC Algiers decide to formalise their interest, a return to Algeria for the first time in his professional career could provide Larouci with a prominent platform in Ligue Professionnelle 1 to rebuild his value and reassert his reputation after several shortterm moves in Europe.
