Patrice Carteron defines technical structure at Wydad Casablanca
Wydad Casablanca head coach Patrice Carteron has decided to keep reserve team coach Abdellatif Noussair away from the first-team technical staff during official matches, as part of a clear organisational structure at the club.
According to a source cited by Site Info, Noussair will not take up a role as assistant coach to Carteron, with the French manager opting to work exclusively with his own appointed assistants within the senior team setup.
The report indicates that Carteron has set specific conditions regarding the technical management of the club, which have been accepted by the relevant parties. These conditions include close supervision of young players who are promoted from the academy into the first-team environment.
In addition, Carteron has requested that the reserve team adopt the same tactical principles and playing philosophy used by the senior squad.
The aim is to ensure consistency across all levels of the club, allowing players to transition more smoothly between teams when called upon.
This alignment is seen as part of a broader effort to create a unified football identity at Wydad, with both the first team and reserves operating under a shared tactical framework.
Further confirmation of Noussair’s position was evident in the build-up to Wydad’s match against Kawkab Marrakech, where he was notably absent from first-team training sessions.
His absence reinforced the understanding that he has not been integrated into Carteron’s senior coaching staff.
The arrangement clarifies the division of responsibilities within the club’s technical structure, with Carteron maintaining full control of first-team matters while Noussair continues to focus on the reserve side.
The decision reflects Carteron’s intention to streamline coaching operations and ensure that his tactical approach is implemented consistently throughout the club’s football system.
