Egypt’s 2010-born national team players have completed medical examinations as preparations begin for the North Africa qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The checks were carried out under the supervision of team doctor Mohamed Madi and physiotherapist Mohamed Mahrous, with the squad continuing its preparations ahead of the tournament.
The medical process included a series of examinations and physical measurements designed to assess the players’ health and fitness. It also aimed to confirm that they are ready to begin the official training programme for the upcoming African qualifiers.
Abdel Sattar Sabry is the head coach of Egypt’s 2010-born team.
The coaching and support staff will continue monitoring the players’ technical and physical condition as they build towards the competition. The objective is to prepare the squad as effectively as possible and secure qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The North Africa tournament will be hosted by Tunisia and is scheduled to take place from 21 September to 2 October. It will serve as a qualifying competition for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Egyptian Football Association has also confirmed that Santos and Eindhoven have agreed to release players for the national team.
Santos approved the inclusion of striker Jihad Ayman, who plays for the club’s under-16 side, in Egypt’s 2010-born squad under Sabry.
Eindhoven have likewise agreed to the selection of Reda Babker, a member of their under-17 team. Babker can play in midfield or at left-back and has been included in the squad for the North Africa qualifiers.
The Egyptian Football Association said the involvement of both players was part of the work being carried out by its player identification committee. The committee was formed by the association’s technical director, Shawky Gharib.
Its role includes identifying Egyptian-qualified players with dual nationality and inviting them to represent Egypt’s national teams at different age-group levels.
The medical assessments form part of the team’s preparations before the squad begins its formal build-up to the qualifiers in Tunisia.
