Ferran Torres named Champions League Player of the Week after hat-trick

Ferran Torres of Paris Saint-Germain has been named Player of the Week for the opening round of the UEFA Champions League league phase.

The Spanish forward was the standout performer in his side’s match against Slovak club Slovan Bratislava, scoring a hat-trick as Paris Saint-Germain secured a 6-1 victory.

Torres topped the voting ahead of Ermedin Demirovic of Stuttgart, Raphinha of Barcelona and Marc Bartra of Real Betis.

The leading players were ranked as follows:

The second round of the league phase is scheduled to take place on 13 and 14 October.
