Wydad Casablanca deny interest in Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah
Abderrazak Hamdallah is reportedly not a transfer target for Wydad AC despite growing speculation linking the Moroccan striker with a move to the Casablanca side ahead of the summer transfer window.
Rumours in recent days had suggested Wydad were considering a move for the former Olympic Safi player following his departure from Al Shabab FC.
However, according to information reported by Le Site info, a source close to the club denied the claims and insisted Wydad are not currently pursuing the striker.
“The club is currently going through a transition phase and the situation doesn’t yet allow us to think about future recruitment,” the source emphasized.
The statement appears to reflect the uncertainty currently surrounding the Moroccan club’s internal situation as preparations continue for upcoming administrative and electoral developments.
According to the same source, the speculation surrounding Hamdallah’s possible arrival is difficult to believe given the present circumstances at the club, particularly following the resignation submitted by president Hicham Ait Menna.
The report added that Ait Menna’s immediate priority is focused on maintaining stability within the club and overseeing preparations leading up to the next elective general assembly rather than pursuing major transfer operations.
The rumours linking Hamdallah with Wydad intensified shortly after the striker’s separation from Al Shabab FC, where his contract was reportedly terminated unilaterally.
The experienced Moroccan forward remains one of the most recognised attacking players in the region and has consistently attracted attention because of his goalscoring record throughout his career.
Despite that reputation, the latest reports suggest Wydad are not currently in a position to prioritise major recruitment plans as the club navigates a significant transitional period behind the scenes.
Transfer speculation involving Hamdallah is nevertheless expected to continue in the coming weeks following his availability on the market after leaving the Saudi club.
For now, however, reports indicate that Wydad’s focus remains on organisational matters and internal stability rather than pursuing a move for the Moroccan international striker.
