We are in talks to sign Mohamed Salah – Beşiktaş president Serdal Adalı

Beşiktaş president Serdal Adalı has confirmed that the Turkish giants remain in negotiations with Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah, dismissing reports that a deal has already been completed.

The 34-year-old, who became a free agent after leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2025/26 season, has been heavily linked with a move to the Turkish Süper Lig. Beşiktaş recently issued a statement to address speculation surrounding the former Liverpool star’s future.

Speaking to Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, Adalı revealed that discussions with Salah’s representatives are still ongoing but insisted the club will not compromise its financial principles.

“Nothing has been decided yet regarding the signing of Salah,” Adalı said. “After media reports claimed the deal had been completed, the player’s agents changed the figures, trying to raise them to astronomical levels.”

“We did not accept that. Our negotiations are ongoing. We love Salah and agree with him on everything, but everyone should know that our priority is the interest of Beşiktaş. We are moving forward in this direction. Our fans can rest assured.”

Salah is attracting significant interest from Turkey, with Beşiktaş, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe all reportedly competing for the signature of one of Africa’s greatest footballers.

The uncertainty surrounding his next destination was recently echoed by his agent, Ramy Abbas, who suggested that a decision could be made in the near future.

“We can still say that we do not yet know where Mohamed will play next season, but we may know very soon,” Abbas wrote on his X account.

He added: “It is not our style to hold discussions with clubs that Mohamed would not want to play for, just for the sake of creating a stir.”

Salah ended a glittering nine-year spell at Liverpool this summer, having joined the Premier League club from AS Roma in 2017. During his time at Anfield, he established himself as one of the club’s greatest-ever players, winning multiple domestic and international honours while becoming one of Liverpool’s all-time leading goalscorers.

With negotiations continuing and interest from several Turkish heavyweights, Salah’s next destination remains one of the most closely watched transfer stories of the summer.
