Waldhof Mannheim re-sign German-Nigerian defender Oluwaseun Ogbemudia from Union Berlin
German-Nigerian centre-back Oluwaseun Ogbemudia has joined Waldhof Mannheim from Union Berlin on loan, returning to the 3. Liga club after a spell there last season.
The 20-year-old defender completed the move on 1 September 2026 and is due to remain with Mannheim until 30 June 2027. Ogbemudia, who stands 1.88m tall and favours his right foot, is returning to the club where he helped win the Baden Cup during the 2025-26 campaign.
Ogbemudia initially moved to Mannheim from Union Berlin on loan on 3 January 2026. He returned to the Bundesliga club at the end of that temporary spell on 30 June before switching back to Waldhof at the start of September.
The defender joined Union Berlin permanently from the club’s under-19 side on 1 July 2025, having progressed through the Berlin side’s youth system. He previously spent time with St Pauli’s under-17 team and youth set-up after starting at Walddorfer’s academy.
His latest move takes him from Bundesliga club Union Berlin to Mannheim’s 3. Liga squad. Ogbemudia’s current market value is €800,000, while the loan transfer fee has not been specified.
Ogbemudia was born in Bremen and holds German and Nigerian nationality. He remains contracted to Union Berlin, with his current deal running until 30 June 2027, while the latest loan arrangement places him back at Waldhof for the 2026-27 season.
The centre-back has now completed a second loan move to Waldhof Mannheim from Union Berlin, with the temporary transfer confirmed on 1 September 2026.
