Tolu Arokodare has offered to pay a cameraman’s speeding fine after the ESPN crew member was delayed getting to an interview with the Ajax striker.
Arokodare, who has scored 12 goals in 16 appearances for Ajax, is attracting increasing attention and ESPN travelled to Amsterdam to speak to him.
However, the interview did not take place as originally planned. Arokodare had to change the scheduled time, meaning the cameraman had to hurry to De Toekomst for the appointment.
During the journey, he exceeded the speed limit and was stopped by police. ESPN Vandaag reported that the cameraman was issued with a fine.
Arokodare was told what had happened after the interview and accepted responsibility for the incident.
“It’s my fault, so I’ll pay,” he said. “Just send me the fine by email. I had given you another time and I was still late. I’m really sorry.”
The cameraman accepted the gesture with gratitude.
