TS Galaxy Queens close in on Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies after Super League win

TS Galaxy Queens moved to within two points of leaders Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies after a 2-0 victory over Stellenbosch Ladies in the latest round of the 2026 Hollywoodbets Super League.

Only three fixtures were played at Sol Plaatjie University over the weekend, with TS Galaxy Queens claiming a convincing win in the Super Era division.

Nomvula Kgoale and Alicia Terhart scored for the Rockets, who remain second in their pool with 13 points from six matches. Their victory allowed them to reduce the gap to defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, who currently lead the standings by two points.

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies were not involved in the weekend’s fixtures because they are representing the club at the CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA qualifiers in Gaborone.

The result strengthened TS Galaxy Queens’ position near the top of the division, while Stellenbosch Ladies were unable to add to their points tally in the latest round of matches.

In another fixture in the same pool, University of the Western Cape edged Diepkloof Ladies 1-0. Sinamile Mkhwanazi scored the only goal of the game to secure victory for the Blues.

The win lifted University of the Western Cape into fourth place with 10 points from six outings. Diepkloof Ladies, who are based in Gauteng, remain second from bottom with three points from the same number of matches.

University of Pretoria retained third position after being held to a 1-1 draw by Richmond United.

The match turned on an own goal from Mmaphuti Tapala, while Thandeka Ncambe scored for Richmond United to help the side from De Aar claim a point.

Richmond United now have seven points from six matches, leaving them three points behind Tuks, who have also played six times. University of Pretoria therefore remain ahead of Richmond United in the division despite failing to take all three points.

The weekend’s results left TS Galaxy Queens firmly in pursuit of Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, with the leading sides separated by only two points. The defending champions’ involvement in the CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA qualifiers has provided TS Galaxy Queens with an opportunity to close the gap, which they took by beating Stellenbosch Ladies.
