Trabzonspor propose €8m loan deal for Al-Hilal forward Darwin Nunez

Trabzonspor have stepped up efforts to sign Al-Hilal forward Darwin Nunez on loan, with the Turkish club proposing an €8m payment package as negotiations move towards a decisive stage.

Talks are being led directly by Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan and vice-president Ibrahim Sahinkaya, who have increased contact with Al-Hilal’s management in recent days.

The discussions are understood to be progressing positively, although the final financial structure remains the main issue still to be settled. Trabzonspor have put forward a plan involving payments totalling €8m for the temporary transfer of the Uruguay international.

Nunez is also said to be receptive to the move, with the possibility of being reunited with former Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah helping to strengthen his interest in the Turkish club’s proposal.

The two players spent a significant period together at Liverpool, and the prospect of playing alongside Salah again has reportedly contributed to Nunez taking a favourable view of Trabzonspor’s approach.

Foreign media reports suggest the transfer is now close to completion, with Trabzonspor having reached a preliminary agreement with the player. The club must still resolve the remaining points in its discussions with Al-Hilal before the deal can be finalised.

A decision is expected during the current week, with the Saudi club either approving or rejecting the proposal once the outstanding details have been settled.

The move follows an inconsistent campaign for Nunez since joining Al-Hilal. The 26-year-old has made 24 appearances across the Saudi Pro League, AFC Champions League Elite and King’s Cup, scoring nine goals and providing five assists.

However, he has been unavailable for 15 weeks since the 21st round of the Saudi Pro League. His absence was linked to foreign-player registration rules, which prevented him from being selected during that period.

Trabzonspor are now attempting to complete one of the most prominent deals of the transfer window, with the club’s leadership maintaining direct negotiations with Al-Hilal in the hope of securing an agreement before the end of the week.

Nunez’s potential arrival would give the Turkish side a high-profile attacking option, but the proposed loan remains dependent on the two clubs reaching agreement over the financial terms.
