Tite gives Hakim Ziyech expanded role in Botafogo’s attacking plans

Tite says Hakim Ziyech has been given more playing time than initially planned as Botafogo look to make greater use of the Morocco international’s technical qualities.

The Brazilian coach believes Ziyech can provide an important attacking option for the club, particularly as a number 10. He praised the midfielder’s ability to operate between the lines, exploit space and contribute in several attacking positions.

Ziyech can also be used on either flank, giving Tite greater flexibility when selecting his team and distributing attacking responsibilities. The coach explained that the player’s qualities had led to a change in his original plans, with Botafogo needing the options his technical ability offers.

The Morocco international has made his first two appearances for Botafogo, receiving a positive response from supporters. Fans have been impressed by his ability, providing an encouraging start to his time with the Brazilian club.

Tite also outlined the alternatives available to him in the playmaking role. Medina can play as a number 10, although he offers a different style from Ziyech, while Montoro is temporarily unavailable because of an ankle injury.

Danilo Pereira provides another option in attack, with Tite highlighting his ability to carry the ball forward vertically and link play with the forwards. That adds further variety to Botafogo’s approach when building attacks.

Ziyech’s versatility has therefore become an important part of Tite’s tactical considerations, allowing the coach to use him either centrally or from wide positions depending on the team’s needs.
