Sochaux hand Toure first professional deal as Tawfik returns to Al Ahly

Africafoot’s latest African football transfer round-up includes Mohamed Abdel Kader Toure signing his first professional contract with FC Sochaux-Montbeliard, while Akram Tawfik has returned to Al Ahly on a three-year agreement.

Toure, a product of the SOAR academy in Guinea, has committed to FC Sochaux-Montbeliard for one season, with the club holding options to extend the deal by a further two years.

The 19-year-old central defender joined the French club in the summer of 2025 and has since made significant progress within its reserve set-up. He played 15 matches in National 2 before being given the opportunity to train and make his first appearances with the professional squad.

The contract represents an important step in the development of the Guinea youth international, who has progressed from academy football to the senior environment within a year of arriving in France.

Tawfik returns to Al Ahly

Akram Tawfik has rejoined Al Ahly, just one year after leaving the Cairo club.

The Egypt international departed Qatari side Al Shamal after the two parties agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent. He has now returned to Al Ahly on a free transfer and signed a three-year contract.

Al Ahly’s technical staff moved quickly to take advantage of the opportunity during the summer transfer window. The club identified Tawfik as an experienced addition to the squad, particularly because of his reputation for performing in important matches.

His return provides Al Ahly with a player already familiar with the club and its environment. The transfer was completed without a fee after the agreement with Al Shamal was ended amicably.

El Mahraoui joins Maghreb de Fes on loan

Anas El Mahraoui has completed a move to Maghreb de Fes despite being in advanced negotiations with Wydad, as previously reported exclusively by Africafoot.

Maghreb de Fes have reached an agreement with Akhmat Grozny for the Moroccan striker to spend the season on loan. The arrangement will remain in place until the end of the campaign, according to Africafoot’s sources.

There is no immediate transfer cost attached to the deal. However, Maghreb de Fes will have the option to make the move permanent when the loan expires.

The salary of the 25-year-old forward will be shared between Maghreb de Fes and Akhmat Grozny for the duration of the agreement.

ES Tunis discussions over Keita and Mokwana

ES Tunis and two of their international players are moving towards an amicable separation, according to Culture Sang et Or.

The club is in discussions with Mauritania international Ibrahima Keita and South Africa international Elias Mokwana over the mutual termination of their contracts. Talks between the various parties are reported to be taking place in a calm and constructive atmosphere.

That positive tone has raised the possibility of a swift end to the two players’ collaboration with ES Tunis, without legal conflict for any of those involved.

Both contracts are currently expected to expire next summer.
