ASEC Mimosas secured a 1-1 draw away to MAS de Fes in Morocco on Sunday in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the 2026-2027 CAF Champions League.
The Ivorian side looked set to leave empty-handed after Chabani Ayimene gave MAS de Fes the lead in the 31st minute.
But Bamba Souhalio, aged just 16, struck in the 91st minute to earn ASEC Mimosas a share of the points. The forward, a former player at the Academie MimoSifcom, ensured the Yellow and Blacks returned to Abidjan with an encouraging result.
The teams remain level ahead of next Sunday’s second leg at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.
Julien Chevalier’s side must win in front of their home supporters to secure qualification for the group stage.
