Swehly SC take first-leg lead over Esperance de Tunis in CAF Champions League

Swehly SC claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Esperance sportive de Tunis in Misrata on Sunday, putting the Libyan side in a strong position after the first leg of the second preliminary round of the 2026-2027 CAF Champions League.

Ayoub Ayed scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute. The result gives Swehly SC an advantage to protect when the two teams meet again.

Esperance sportive de Tunis must now overturn the deficit at home to keep their continental campaign alive. The return leg will be played on 24 October at 17:00 at Hamadi-Agrebi Stadium in Rades.
