Saudi Pro League publishes full 2026-27 Roshn fixture calendar amid congested season planning

The Saudi Pro League has officially released the full 2026-2027 Roshn Saudi League fixture list, confirming a season that will start on 13 August 2026 and conclude on 29 May 2027, featuring 18 clubs playing 306 matches over 34 rounds.

The schedule was approved and announced by the رابطة الدوري السعودي للمحترفين after a series of meetings and workshops with representatives of all participating clubs, during which the proposed calendar and scheduling methodology were presented and discussed.

According to the league body, the process was designed to give every club the chance to review, comment on and request adjustments to the sequence and timing of its fixtures before the final version of the schedule was signed off.

Clubs consulted on fixture sequencing

The رابطة الدوري السعودي للمحترفين explained that it held multiple joint sessions with club officials to go through the draft calendar in detail, outlining the criteria used to determine matchdays, kick-off dates and the overall structure of the season.

During these sessions, clubs were invited to submit observations and specific requests concerning the order of matches they would play and preferred dates where possible, within the constraints of the wider domestic and international calendar.

Those inputs were then assessed and, where feasible, incorporated into the definitive schedule that has now been made public for the 2026-2027 campaign.

Exceptional calendar shapes 2026-27 schedule

In drawing up the fixtures, the league authorities said they had to accommodate what they described as an exceptional sporting calendar for the upcoming season.

Eight Saudi clubs will be involved in four different international competitions during the same period, adding significant complexity to domestic scheduling and placing additional pressure on available match slots.

At the same time, the league had to align its dates with official international breaks on the FIFA calendar, during which national team players are unavailable for club duty.

The timetable also had to take into account the competitive commitments of the المنتخب السعودي, whose fixtures and preparation windows needed to be protected within the season structure.

Asian Cup hosting adds further pressure

An additional layer of difficulty came from Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the كاس اسيا 2027, which will take place in the Kingdom and further restrict the dates available for league fixtures.

The رابطة الدوري السعودي للمحترفين said these combined factors created “major challenges” in allocating matches and fixing their dates while seeking to maintain competitive balance and minimise disruption for clubs and players.

Despite those constraints, the finalised schedule confirms that all 18 teams will complete a full double round-robin programme across 34 rounds, ensuring that the Roshn Saudi League season runs to its planned conclusion on 29 May 2027.
