Samuel Moutoussamy reflects on debut season with Atromitos Athens

Samuel Moutoussamy has described his first season with Atromitos FC as a campaign filled with important lessons after establishing himself as one of the club’s key midfield players in the Greek top division.

The DR Congo international joined Atromitos from Sivasspor in search of a fresh challenge and an opportunity to revive his career.

The move followed his departure from FC Nantes after the French club’s relegation, a turning point that ultimately led him to continue his career abroad.

Since arriving in Greece, the defensive midfielder has become an important figure in the Atromitos squad, playing a central role throughout the season with his consistency and experience in midfield.

Reflecting on the campaign in a message shared on social media, Moutoussamy highlighted the collective effort shown by the squad during the year.

“I am finishing my first season in Greece with many memories and valuable lessons for the future. We fought as a team all year and gave everything on the pitch,” he said.

The midfielder’s contribution on the field underlined his importance to the team during the campaign. In his debut season with Atromitos, the Congolese international made 35 appearances, scored three goals and accumulated 2,657 minutes of playing time, placing him among the club’s most heavily used players.

His performances in Greece marked another positive step in a career that has already taken him through French, Turkish and now Greek football.

The season also allowed him to regain continuity and establish himself in a competitive environment after leaving Nantes.

Attention now shifts to international duty for Moutoussamy, who is preparing to join the Democratic Republic of the Congo national team ahead of upcoming World Cup commitments.

Having completed a productive season at club level, the midfielder will hope to carry that momentum into the international stage as DR Congo continue their preparations for the global tournament.
