RSC Anderlecht close in on Moroccan striker Tawfik Bentayeb

Tawfik Bentayeb is nearing a move to RSC Anderlecht after the Belgian club reached an agreement with Union Touarga Sportif for the transfer of the 24-year-old Moroccan striker.

The deal is understood to be worth about €4m, including bonuses, according to Sacha Tavolieri. The agreement between the two clubs clears the main obstacle to Bentayeb’s departure and leaves him poised to take the next step in his career.

However, the transfer has not yet been completed. Bentayeb is waiting for a work permit, the final administrative requirement before he can formally move to Belgium and join the RSC Anderlecht squad.

The expected transfer was first revealed exclusively by Africafoot, which reported that the forward was closing in on a move to the Brussels-based club. The agreement now gives RSC Anderlecht the opportunity to complete the signing once the necessary paperwork has been approved.

Bentayeb’s proposed move represents a significant progression for a player whose performances for Union Touarga Sportif have attracted interest from several European clubs. His current market value is estimated at €8m by Transfermarkt, twice the reported guaranteed value of the agreement before bonuses are taken into account.

RSC Anderlecht are therefore preparing to invest in a highly sought-after Moroccan attacking player, with the club hoping he can establish himself quickly in Belgium. Bentayeb’s effectiveness in front of goal and his potential for further development have helped make him an attractive target, Africafoot reported.

For Union Touarga Sportif, the agreement would bring an end to Bentayeb’s time at the club and allow the striker to pursue an opportunity at a higher level of European football. For RSC Anderlecht, his arrival would add a forward regarded as having both immediate attacking qualities and room to improve.

The only outstanding issue is now the work permit. Once that permission is granted, Bentayeb will be able to complete his move and officially become part of the RSC Anderlecht group.
