Ronaldo Kwateh has left Semen Padang FC and is now officially a free agent after his contract with the Indonesian club ended, making the right winger available on a free transfer from 2026-02-10 to 2026-02-10. The move is registered as a completed switch from Semen Padang to “Without Club,” confirming that the Indonesia/Liberia dual national is no longer tied to any team.
The transfer was finalized without a fee, with the player’s market value listed at €75k at the time of his departure. His stint at Semen Padang therefore concludes with the 21-year-old stepping into an uncertain but potentially pivotal phase of his career, as he is now free to negotiate with interested clubs domestically or abroad.
Kwateh’s exit from Semen Padang continues a notably itinerant early career. Born in Yogyakarta and standing 1.74m tall, he was developed in Indonesia, progressing from Football School (Indonesia) to PERSIB Bandung Youth before earning a move to Madura United FC in 2021. At Madura United, his market value rose sharply, climbing from €25k to €175k between 2021 and 2022 as he established himself as a promising attacking option on the right flank.
His first move abroad came with Bodrum FK in Türkiye in early 2023, marking his initial exposure to a higher-intensity environment outside Indonesia. While his market value plateaued at €175k during his time in Türkiye, it indicated sustained regard for his potential. In 2024 he transferred to Muangthong United in Thailand, a step that kept him in a competitive regional setting and eventually led to a loan spell at Mahasarakham SBT FC in early 2025. That loan was later concluded, with the winger returning to Muangthong before switching back to Indonesia with Semen Padang in mid-2025.
As of his latest valuation at Semen Padang, Kwateh’s market value had adjusted to €75k, reflecting a modest decline from his peak but still underlining his status as a marketable young winger with international experience. His main position remains on the right wing, operating as an attacking wide player with a preference for his right foot.
Kwateh also carries the added dimension of dual nationality, listed with both Indonesia and Liberia. This background broadens his eligibility and makes him an intriguing option for clubs looking for a young, internationally seasoned wide forward. Having already played in Indonesia’s top flight, Türkiye, and Thailand, his résumé shows a willingness to adapt to different leagues and football cultures.
Now unattached, Kwateh’s immediate future will depend on which club takes the opportunity to sign a 21-year-old with experience across Southeast Asia and Europe. Leaving Semen Padang as a free agent at his age could either signal a reset or a springboard; his next decision will likely shape the trajectory of a career that has already spanned multiple countries and competitive levels.
