Real Betis monitor Bruno Onyemaechi as Olympiacos set €6m asking price

Real Betis are closely following Bruno Onyemaechi, although no offer or formal negotiations have yet taken place for the Olympiacos defender.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur, the Spanish club are monitoring the Nigeria international’s situation as they assess potential defensive options. Onyemaechi’s profile has attracted interest at Real Betis, but the club have not made an approach to Olympiacos at this stage.

The Greek club are understood to value the 27-year-old at €6m if they are to consider allowing him to leave.

Olympiacos signed Onyemaechi from Boavista for €2.5m. As part of that transfer, the Portuguese club secured a 10% sell-on clause, meaning Boavista could receive a share of any profit generated by a future move.

Onyemaechi has established himself as an experienced international defender. He has won 32 caps for Nigeria and remains under contract with Olympiacos until June 2028.

His current market value is estimated at €2.5m by Transfermarkt, considerably below the €6m fee reportedly being demanded by Olympiacos.

For now, Real Betis’ interest remains at the monitoring stage. No concrete bid has been submitted and there have been no official talks between the clubs. Any possible approach from the Spanish side could depend on their defensive requirements and whether Olympiacos are prepared to reduce their financial demands.

Real Betis are due to face Osasuna in their next Spanish league fixture, the seventh matchday of the campaign.
