Rayan Fofana: France and Ivory Coast forward joins Le Havre on loan from Lens

France and Ivory Coast centre-forward Rayan Fofana has joined Le Havre AC from Lens on loan, completing a Ligue 1 move for the 20-year-old attacking player.

Fofana’s agreement with Le Havre runs until 30 June 2027, with the forward returning to Lens at the end of the loan. He will wear the Le Havre colours after making his senior breakthrough at Lens, where he progressed from the club’s under-19 side into the first-team squad.

The Paris-born striker is 1.87m tall and prefers his right foot. His arrival gives Le Havre another centre-forward option as the club competes in Ligue 1 during the 2026-27 season.

Fofana has already featured in the opening stages of the campaign, making one appearance in the Trophee des Champions. He did not make a Ligue 1 appearance before moving to Le Havre.

His time at Lens included a successful 2025-26 season, when he was part of the squad that won the French Cup. He also collected a French Super Cup winners’ medal with the club in the 2026-27 campaign, before switching clubs on 31 August.

Fofana joined Lens from the club’s under-19 team in July 2025, having previously developed with Lens Under-17s. His pathway began at Drancy, which he left for Lens’ youth system in 2021.

The move keeps Fofana in France’s top flight while giving him the opportunity to continue his senior career at Le Havre. The transfer is a loan arrangement between two Ligue 1 clubs, with Lens retaining his registration beyond the end of the temporary spell.

Fofana’s contract at Le Havre is scheduled to run until 30 June 2027, when the loan concludes and he is due to return to Lens.
