Pyramids to face Alanyaspor in second Turkey pre-season friendly on Wednesday

Pyramids will play Turkish side Alanyaspor in their second pre-season friendly on Wednesday as part of their training camp in Erzurum, sporting director Hani Said has confirmed.

The Egyptian club are currently based in the eastern Turkish city for a preparation camp ahead of the new season, which runs until 9 August.

Said explained that Pyramids will meet Alanyaspor in a friendly at 17:00 local time on Wednesday, with the match to be staged at facilities in Erzurum where the team are holding their camp.

The Alanyaspor fixture is the second of four warm-up games arranged for the trip. Pyramids began their friendly schedule against Iranian side Persepolis, before arranging to face the Turkish club.

Said added that details of the remaining two friendly matches will be announced progressively over the coming period.

Intensive work under new head coach Mokwena

Alongside the confirmed friendlies, Pyramids have continued what the club describe as intensive training sessions at their Turkish base.

The squad took part in a strenuous morning session that combined physical conditioning with tactical drills, reflecting the approach of newly appointed South African head coach Rulani Mokwena.

Training included the implementation of specific moves and patterns of play designed by Mokwena and his staff, as the coaching team look to instil their ideas and philosophy before the competitive season begins.

The club view the Erzurum camp, which features a total of four friendlies including the games against Persepolis and Alanyaspor, as a key phase in preparing the squad physically and tactically for the upcoming campaign.
