Phikolomzi Kefile appointed to lead Bolobathaba United Sports Academy coaching programme
Bolobathaba United Sports Academy have appointed former Santos FC midfielder Phikolomzi Kefile as their new Head Coach of the Academy.
The Roodepoort-based institution says Kefile will oversee its daily coaching programme as part of a wider effort to strengthen its coaching structure and create greater consistency in football philosophy and player development across all age groups.
Kefile’s role will include managing and coordinating the academy’s various age-group head coaches. He will also be responsible for ensuring that the football philosophy and methodology established by the Technical Director are applied throughout the academy.
The academy expects him to help establish a consistent playing identity while recognising the different developmental requirements of players at each age level.
A programme of weekly meetings with coaches will be introduced under Kefile’s leadership. Those sessions will be used to align training plans, review player progress and coordinate preparations for upcoming matches.
He will also assess training programmes, attend coaching sessions and offer practical feedback intended to raise coaching standards across the academy.
Monitoring individual player development will be another central part of the appointment. Kefile will track players’ progress and make recommendations on whether they should move into higher age groups or receive additional support.
He will further be expected to uphold standards relating to coaching performance, attendance, punctuality and discipline among the academy’s coaching staff.
Kefile will work alongside the team manager to ensure coaching plans reflect player availability and match logistics. He will also provide regular reports covering coaching delivery, player development and team performances.
The appointment is intended to give Bolobathaba United Sports Academy a more coordinated approach to developing young footballers through a structured coaching environment in Roodepoort.
