Omar Fayed set to join Frosinone in permanent move from Fenerbahce

Omar Fayed is on his way to Italy to complete a permanent transfer to Frosinone, according to Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Fayed is due to undergo a medical on Thursday before signing his contract with the Italian club. Unlike his previous moves, the 23-year-old Egypt defender will join Frosinone on a permanent basis rather than on loan.

Romano shared an image on X showing Fayed alongside his agent, Maher Nofal, and his brother Islam. The picture was posted as further details emerged about the deal.

Fayed remains under contract with Fenerbahce until the summer of 2027, but he has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Turkish club since moving there from Al Mokawloon Al Arab in the summer of 2023.

Instead, Fenerbahce have sent him out on loan during each of the seasons since his arrival. He spent the 2023-24 campaign with Serbian side Novi Pazar, before joining Belgian club Beerschot for the 2024-25 season.

His most recent loan spell came at Portuguese club Arouca during the 2025-26 season.

Across those three campaigns, Fayed made 38 league appearances in Serbia, Belgium and Portugal. Before moving to Europe, he played 28 matches for Al Mokawloon Al Arab.

Frosinone have returned to Italy’s top division after a two-season absence. The club are now preparing to add Fayed to their squad as they strengthen ahead of their return to Serie A.

The move will give Fayed the chance to establish himself permanently at a new club after three successive loan spells and no playing time with Fenerbahce’s senior team. His medical and the signing of the relevant documents are the remaining steps before the transfer can be completed.

Fayed’s arrival would represent a significant change in the next stage of his career. Having moved from Al Mokawloon Al Arab to Fenerbahce at the age of 20, he has since gained experience in three different European leagues, although his appearances have been limited to loan clubs.

The defender will now be expected to compete for a place in Frosinone’s squad as the club return to the highest level of Italian football. The transfer is set to be confirmed once he has passed his medical and signed the final paperwork.
