Olympiakos open talks over OGC Nice midfielder Hicham Boudaoui

Hicham Boudaoui could leave OGC Nice during the winter transfer window, with Olympiakos having already made contact over a possible move for the Algeria international.

According to Greek outlet Red & White, Antonio Cordon, the club’s new sporting director, has held initial discussions with representatives of the 27-year-old midfielder.

Boudaoui’s international experience is understood to be one of the qualities attracting interest from Olympiakos. The player, who was born in Bechar, has been at OGC Nice since joining from Paradou and remains under contract with the French club until 30 June 2027.

Despite that remaining commitment, Nice are seeking about 5 million euros to sanction a transfer. That figure is expected to form the starting point for negotiations between the two clubs.

The French side’s position is also linked to the desire to avoid losing Boudaoui without receiving financial compensation when his contract eventually expires. His current market valuation is 12 million euros.

Olympiakos are not the only club to have shown interest in the midfielder. Boudaoui was also approached recently by Saudi Arabian clubs, although those discussions did not result in an agreement, as reported exclusively by Africafoot.

Boudaoui earns an annual salary of 290,000 euros, equivalent to 188,500,000 FCFA. However, his opportunities at OGC Nice have been limited this season, with the former Paradou player having made only four minutes of Ligue 1 action.

His lack of playing time could increase the possibility of a move, although any deal would depend on Nice’s valuation and the outcome of talks with Olympiakos.

OGC Nice are next due to face RC Strasbourg in the sixth round of the French championship.
