Hubert Yao joins FC Nordjaelland

Danish outfit, Nordsjælland have secured a long-term agreement with highly rated Ivorian striker Hubert Yao, who will officially join the Danish side in 2028 when he turns 18.

The agreement highlights the Danish club’s continued commitment to identifying and developing elite prospects long before they reach senior football, with Yao seen as one of the most exciting attacking talents emerging from West Africa.

Despite his young age, Yao is already building an impressive résumé on the international scene. The forward has been a key figure for the Ivory Coast U17 national team, showcasing his sharp movement, attacking intelligence, and natural finishing ability.

He featured at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025, gaining valuable experience against some of the best youth talents in the world, and is also expected to play a major role in the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026, where scouts and clubs will once again closely monitor his development.

FC Nordsjælland have built a strong reputation for their innovative recruitment model, particularly in Africa, where they have consistently signed and developed young players before integrating them into European football.

The decision to secure Yao’s future services so early reflects their strong belief in his potential, as well as the competitive nature of European clubs fighting for emerging African talents.

While the deal has been agreed, Yao will remain in his development environment until 2028, continuing his progression before making the move to Denmark as a fully eligible professional player.

For Yao, the agreement represents more than just a transfer—it is a milestone in a rapidly rising career.

“I am very happy that my move to FC Nordsjælland when I turn 18 has now been confirmed,” Yao said after the announcement. “It is a childhood dream come true, and my family and I are very proud. I can’t wait to play my first match for the club.”

His words reflect both excitement and maturity, as he prepares to continue his development with the long-term goal of succeeding in European football.

With several years still to go before he officially arrives in Denmark, Yao’s journey will be closely followed by scouts, analysts, and fans eager to see whether he can fulfill his early promise.

For Nordsjælland, however, the message is already clear: they believe they have secured one of the next big attacking talents from Africa—and they are prepared to wait patiently for him to arrive.
