Approaching this trip to the Côte d’Azur, PSG might exhibit slightly less determination than usual, with the looming quarter-final clash against Chelsea in the Champions League. Considering this upcoming fixture, Laurent Blanc may opt to rotate his squad at the Allianz Riviera.
OGC Nice is banking on PSG’s squad rotation to try and unsettle Ibrahimovic and company. However, Blaise Matuidi cautioned the Aiglons during an interview with France Bleu 107.1 FM.
“It’s not going to be an easy match. It’s always difficult to play against Nice, especially in their beautiful stadium with their passionate crowd behind them,” admitted the midfielder. “But we have players who are accustomed to such environments. I hope it will be a good match, and that we will return home with three points,” Matuidi continued. “We shouldn’t overlook Chelsea because there are still points to be earned in the league and a title to be won. We have a comfortable lead, but until it’s mathematically secured, we must remain focused and attentive, as we have been since the beginning of the season,” warned the Franco-Angolan. “We have challenging away fixtures ahead, starting with Nice, followed by trips to Lille and Lyon. We aim to finish strongly. We are competitors and won’t give up until the end. We also have players with personal objectives that contribute to the collective effort. We understand that playing before or after a Champions League match can be challenging. However, our priority is the championship, and we are fully focused on the Nice match.”
