MTN8 final sells out after digital ticketing problems

The MTN8 final between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns is sold out, with a full house expected at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday, 10 October.

The match will be the first domestic final of the season and the fourth meeting between the clubs in the competition in five seasons, underlining the growing rivalry between the sides.

However, the sell-out was overshadowed by widespread problems with the digital ticketing system on Friday. High demand caused outages on the purchasing platform, leaving many supporters unable to secure seats.

League officials and event organisers confirmed that tickets will not be available to buy at Moses Mabhida Stadium or through retail outlets.

All entry passes must be accessed digitally. Gates will open at 14h00 to allow time for security checks and pre-match entertainment before the final begins.

Organisers have reminded all spectators, including children, to download their mobile tickets before arriving at the venue.

Screenshots and printed copies will not be accepted at the turnstiles, meaning supporters must present the required digital passes on their mobile devices.

Those unable to obtain tickets during Friday’s rush can watch the Orlando Pirates-Mamelodi Sundowns final live on SuperSport PSL (Channel 202) and SABC 1.
