Mohammed Kudus’ career on a slope that is not going up – Former agent Mendelewitsch
Mohammed Kudus is facing fresh scrutiny over his career trajectory after his former agent Jennifer Mendelewitsch claimed the midfielder is no longer progressing as expected.
Speaking in an interview on EN OFF, Mendelewitsch offered a her assessment of the Ghana international, with whom she worked closely for several years before their professional relationship ended ahead of his high-profile switch from West Ham United to Tottenham Hotspur prior to the 2025-2026 campaign.
Her remarks come at a difficult moment for Kudus, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a setback during his recovery from a quad injury that had already sidelined him for three months.
The injury disruption has compounded what has been a mixed debut season in North London, where he has recorded three goals and six assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.
Mendelewitsch attributed their split in part to growing external influence around the player, particularly from his family, suggesting it had begun to affect key career decisions.
“I can understand that you want to gradually integrate your family [into your management team]; it is natural. The problem is that when you realize that it is to your detriment, then correct the situation, leave them out of it a little bit or give them tasks that won’t impact you. The problem is when it impacts you, and here we see it very clearly.”
“He, Mohammed Kudus, is going to be 26 years old. There are players today who we talk about more than him who are more successful than him. Right now, he is on a slope that is not going up, and yet we built it up gradually, and unfortunately we realize that things aren’t going well around him,” Mendelewitsch said.
