Juan Bezerra apologises to Zamalek after pre-season absence and addresses future

Brazilian forward Juan Bezerra has apologised to Zamalek, his team-mates and supporters after his decision to stay away from pre-season training, while reiterating his desire to leave the Egyptian club.

Bezerra returned to Cairo on Saturday to resolve the uncertainty surrounding his future after previously refusing to join Zamalek for the start of pre-season because of his reported desire to move to Shabab Al Ahli Dubai.

The Brazilian addressed the situation in an official message to the club and its supporters, acknowledging the strong relationship he built with Zamalek during his first season.

Bezerra apologises to Zamalek

Reflecting on his time at the club, Bezerra highlighted his contribution to Zamalek’s league triumph last season before apologising for his actions.

“To Zamalek Club and its fans, I had a wonderful season with Zamalek Club, and I was one of those who contributed to winning the league title.”

He added: “From Cairo, I would like to apologize to Zamalek Club and its board of directors, to my teammates individually, to the entire coaching staff, and to the Zamalek fans. I hope you will accept this apology, and I am fully prepared to accept any disciplinary measures that the club may impose on me.”

The Brazilian also acknowledged the support he received from the Zamalek faithful throughout the previous campaign.

“At this important moment in my life, I cannot ignore the feelings of love shown to me by the Zamalek fans and their chanting of my name in the stands. This support is what helped me to give my best throughout last season with the help of my teammates.”

Brazilian insists relationship remains positive

Despite the dispute over his future, Bezerra stressed that his relationship with those at Zamalek remains strong.

“I would like to emphasize that my relationship with everyone in the team is excellent, and I am grateful to the club and its management for their desire for me to continue with Zamalek and for their efforts to keep me in the team. However, I chose to leave because I see that I now have a great opportunity that may not be repeated, and it is a great dream for me and my family.”

He maintained that his desire for a transfer came after giving his best to the Egyptian club during the previous season.

“For this reason, I held fast to my desire to move at this stage of my sporting career, after I gave everything I had to Zamalek throughout last season, as witnessed by the club’s fans, with my full appreciation for the club and its fans.”

Bezerra wants transfer completed

Bezerra has now asked Zamalek to allow him to pursue a move while respecting the conditions set by the club.

“Today, as a player at Zamalek Club, and with great appreciation for every individual in this club, I hope that my desire and decision to move to a new club will be fulfilled, according to the conditions set by the club. This does not mean in any way that I will ever forget the role that the fans played in my career.”

The Brazilian ended his statement by again apologising and expressing his appreciation for the club and its supporters.

“I hope to leave Zamalek Club with the hope that my good relationship with everyone here will continue, because I have received nothing but appreciation and high professional respect from them. This is what will make Zamalek Club and its bright fans an immortal chapter in my football career. Once again, I apologize to everyone, and I will always cherish Zamalek Club and its fans, and they will always occupy a special place in my heart, with my sincere respect and appreciation.”
