CAF Champions League preliminary phase second round fixtures confirmed

The 2026/27 CAF Champions League preliminary phase second round has produced several intriguing ties involving some of Africa’s leading clubs.

South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns will face Angola’s Wiliete SC, while Egyptian giants Zamalek have been paired with Rwanda’s APR FC.

Tanzanian heavyweights Simba SC will meet Comoros side 15 de Agosto/Fomboni, with Moroccan club RS Berkane drawn against Sierra Leone’s Star Sport Academy.

North African giants face demanding ties

Morocco will also be represented by Maghreb Fez, who will take on Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas.

Algeria’s MC Alger have been drawn against Nigeria’s Rangers, while Tunisia’s Esperance face Libya’s Asswehly.

Another North African clash sees Egyptian side Pyramids FC take on El Merriekh Bentiu of South Sudan.

African giants across the continent

Sudan’s Al Hilal will face Ethiopia’s Sidama Bunna, while Petro de Luanda of Angola will meet Zimbabwe’s Scotland FC.

Namibia’s African Stars have been handed a difficult assignment against South African giants Orlando Pirates.

Senegalese outfit Teungueth FC will play Cameroon’s Colombe Sportive, while Ivory Coast’s San Pedro will meet Mauritania’s FC Nouadhibou.

The remaining ties will see Madagascar’s CFFA face Tanzania’s Young Africans, while Guinea’s Horoya AC take on Sudanese side Al Merrikh.

DR Congo giants TP Mazembe will meet Tunisia’s Club Africain in another heavyweight encounter.
