Egyptian striker Mohamed Sherif, currently playing for Saudi side Al Khaleej, has revealed that he has received multiple offers from clubs in Egypt and the Gulf region. Sherif, whose contract with Al Khaleej is set to expire in January, spoke openly about his future and the competitive nature of the Saudi Pro League during an interview with Al Ahly TV.

“I have been injured, but I will return in two weeks,” Sherif stated, updating fans on his fitness.

He has been sidelined for a short period, but the 27-year-old is eager to get back on the pitch as the season progresses.

Sherif also reflected on his experience in the Saudi Pro League, highlighting its competitiveness and the high level of play outside of the traditional powerhouse clubs.

“The Saudi Pro League is exciting and intense,” he said. “Outside of the big four—Ahli Jeddah, Al Hilal, Al Nassr, and Ittihad Jeddah—all teams’ levels are close.

You can beat a strong team away from home and lose to a weaker team at home.”

The striker, who made a name for himself during his time with Al Ahly, emphasized that he is not one to compare leagues but acknowledged the unique challenges posed by the Saudi league.

“I am not the one who says the Saudi league is stronger than the Egyptian league,” Sherif explained. “Every team here has eight foreign players, and the pitches and environment are different. The Saudi league is very strong.”

With his contract nearing its end, speculation has grown around Sherif’s next move.

The striker confirmed that he will honor his agreement with Al Khaleej but hinted at the possibility of a return to Egypt, specifically to Al Ahly, the club where he enjoyed tremendous success.

“My contract with Al Khaleej ends in January, and I will be a free agent,” Sherif said. “People here are very respectful, and I will respect my contract with them.”

Despite his loyalty to Al Khaleej, Sherif remains open to a return to Egypt, with his heart clearly still tied to Al Ahly.

He confirmed that his agent has been in contact with several clubs.

“My agent tells me that there are multiple offers from Egyptian and Gulf clubs, but my priority is Al Ahly,” Sherif revealed.

Reflecting on his decision to leave Al Ahly, Sherif dismissed claims that money was the primary motivation, instead citing his desire for regular playing time.

“I did not leave Al Ahly because of money,” he said. “I wanted to play, and I wanted to leave while being the team’s top scorer, because it is better than leaving when I am not playing.”

Sherif also took a moment to offer words of support for Wessam Abo Ali, his successor at Al Ahly.

“Wessam Abo Ali had a very good start, and I wish him luck,” he said.

As Sherif prepares to return from injury, speculation around his future will only intensify, with fans eager to see where the prolific forward will play next.
