Middlesbrough’s Seny Dieng receives positive update on thigh injury
Seny Dieng, Middlesbrough’s 29-year-old goalkeeper and Senegalese international, has received encouraging news following additional examinations on the thigh injury sustained during last weekend’s clash against Swansea.
Although the injury forced Dieng to leave the pitch towards the end of the match, initial concerns have been alleviated as the test results indicate a thigh issue that, fortunately, is not deemed too severe.
The confirmation comes as a relief for both the player and the Middlesbrough coaching staff.
Coach Michael Carrick clarified the nature of the injury, stating, “It was just a thigh problem.”
He further expressed optimism about Dieng’s swift return to action, mentioning, “His length of absence? It will only be a matter of days, or a little more, I hope.”
While Dieng is unlikely to be available for the upcoming fixture against West Bromwich Albion this Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
GMT, there is optimism that he could make a return during the busy Boxing Day schedule in the Championship.
The trip to face Rotherham on December 26 presents a potential comeback opportunity for the goalkeeper.
Alternatively, the African champion aims to resume action against Huddersfield on December 29, providing ample time for recovery and rehabilitation.
The positive prognosis bodes well for Middlesbrough, offering assurance to fans and the team alike as they anticipate the return of their talented shot-stopper in the upcoming fixtures.
