Mbappe responds to El Clasico victory with playful ‘NORMAAAAAL’

Kylian Mbappe summed up Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory over Barcelona in Sunday’s La Liga Clasico with a single, sarcastic word: “NORMAAAAAL” meaning “normal” or “nothing unusual”.

Mbappe scored both of Real Madrid’s goals as they ended Barcelona’s unbeaten league run and moved to within three points of the La Liga leaders.

The France forward appeared in particularly high spirits during a video call with comedian Elias Djadja and content creator Noah Lounsi. Asked about the result, Mbappe delivered his response in a mocking tone before stretching out the word for comic effect.

The exchange came only hours before the Ballon d’Or awards ceremony, which is due to take place in London on Monday.

Mbappe’s two goals continued an outstanding start to the season. The former Paris Saint-Germain player has now scored 14 goals in 13 appearances across all competitions, underlining his form ahead of the ceremony.

The performance also added another chapter to his record against Barcelona, although his overall head-to-head record against the Catalan club remains negative.

Mbappe has faced Barcelona 11 times during his career, recording four victories, six defeats and one draw. Four of those matches came while he was playing for Paris Saint-Germain, with two wins, one draw and one defeat.

Since joining Real Madrid, Mbappe has played Barcelona seven times. He has won twice and lost five of those meetings.

In total, he has scored 14 goals against Barcelona in his 11 appearances against them.

The La Liga listings accompanying the report include Barcelona on 31 October 2026. Deportivo Alaves and Racing Santander are listed for 1 November 2026, with Real Madrid also included in the La Liga schedule.
