Marseille could sell Timothy Weah this summer
Olympique Marseille may be forced to part with Timothy Weah this summer as the club looks for ways to balance its finances.
With no sporting director in place and the coaching situation still unresolved, the squad for next season remains uncertain, and the budget is tight.
Vincent Moscato said Marseille will have to make hard choices if it wants to reduce costs. In his view, the easiest players to move on are also the ones who can bring in the biggest fees, which is why he believes Mason Greenwood, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Weah could all be sold. He argued that a club carrying heavy debt cannot keep spending as if fresh money will always arrive.
Moscato also warned that Marseille cannot keep depending on owner Frank McCourt to keep covering losses forever. He stressed that if the club wants stability, it must trim salaries and sell valuable assets rather than wait for another rescue. The message is clear: if Olympique Marseille needs room to breathe, Weah may become one of the sacrifices.
According to Transfermarkt, Timothy Weah’s current transfer is €20,000,000.
