Super Falcons goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor targets fresh start at Crystal Palace after Portsmouth spell

Super Falcons goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor has described her move to Crystal Palace Women as a major step in her career after completing a two-year deal with the English club.

The 21-year-old Nigeria international was unveiled by Palace on Thursday following a season with Portsmouth, where she made six appearances across all competitions during the 2025/26 campaign. Erhabor is now hoping the move will give her a platform to compete regularly at a higher level.

“It feels really good to be here. I’m very excited to get started.

“I’m aspiring to play at the highest level, so this is a really big step in my career.”

Erhabor eyes bigger role

The move represents another stage in the development of a goalkeeper who has progressed through several clubs in the English women’s game.

Erhabor started her career at the Brighton & Hove Albion Academy before gaining senior experience through loan spells with Hibernian and Plymouth Argyle. She joined Portsmouth in July 2025 and spent the 2025/26 season with the club before securing her switch to Palace.

At Palace, the young goalkeeper will have the opportunity to continue developing within a new environment while pushing for more playing time and greater responsibility.

Manager Jo Potter welcomed Erhabor to the club and backed her potential to make an impact.

“Comfort is a promising young goalkeeper, and we are thrilled to have her here at Palace.”

Nigeria international breakthrough

Erhabor’s club career in England has been accompanied by her emergence on the international stage with Nigeria.

Born in the Netherlands and raised in England, she opted to represent Nigeria and earned her first Super Falcons appearance in February, starting a friendly against Cameroon.

That breakthrough led to her inclusion in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. She did not, however, make an appearance during the tournament, remaining an unused substitute throughout the Super Falcons’ campaign.

The move to Palace therefore comes at an important point in Erhabor’s international development, as she seeks to establish herself more firmly in the national-team setup while competing for opportunities at club level.

Another Nigerian joins Premier League ranks

Erhabor’s arrival at Crystal Palace comes only days after fellow Super Falcons defender Rofiat Imuran completed her move to Aston Villa.

The back-to-back transfers underline the growing presence of young Nigerian internationals in England’s women’s game and offer both players fresh platforms to develop their careers.

For Erhabor, the immediate challenge will be to translate her potential into regular first-team football and use her new Palace chapter to strengthen her claim for a bigger role with Nigeria.
