Manchester City close in on Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye after medical, says Romano

Manchester City are preparing to complete the signing of Senegal international Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, with the forward undergoing a medical ahead of the proposed move, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Ndiaye is expected to complete the formalities of his transfer once the medical process has concluded. Romano reports that Manchester City have agreed a fee worth £60m, with a further £5m potentially payable in add-ons.

The deal would see Ndiaye leave Everton only two years after joining the club from French side Marseille. He arrived at Goodison Park in the summer of 2024 and has a contract that runs until the summer of 2029.

Despite the length of that agreement, Manchester City have moved to secure the Senegal international as part of their summer recruitment. Ndiaye has made 74 appearances for Everton, scoring 17 goals and providing four assists during his time with the club.

The proposed transfer would add to a busy summer for Manchester City. The club have also signed Ayoub Bouaddi, Elliot Anderson and Geronimo Rulli during the current transfer window.

Manchester City have begun their Premier League campaign with two victories, beating Bournemouth and Crystal Palace. Those results have left them top of the table with six points.

Everton also remain unbeaten after their opening two league matches. They defeated Crystal Palace in the first round of fixtures before drawing with Bournemouth.

Ndiaye’s potential departure would therefore come as Everton begin the season with four points from their opening games. His record of 17 goals and four assists in 74 appearances has made him an important part of the squad since his move from Marseille in 2024.

Manchester City will now await the outcome of the medical before finalising the transfer. The reported structure of the agreement would see Everton receive £60m as a guaranteed fee, while an additional £5m would depend on the agreed conditions being met.

Romano’s report indicates that the move is at an advanced stage, with the medical representing a key step before the transfer can be completed. Should the process be concluded successfully, Ndiaye will become the latest addition to Manchester City’s summer squad.

The Senegal international’s move would also bring an end to his spell at Everton after only one full season and the opening matches of the new campaign. For Manchester City, the agreement would provide another major reinforcement as they continue their Premier League campaign at the top of the standings.
