Francisco Conceicao says he did not have an argument with any member of the Juventus coaching staff after being substituted during their 2-1 Europa League victory at Celta Vigo.
The Portugal winger appeared to object to his withdrawal by hitting the area around the substitutes’ bench during the second matchday of the competition’s league phase.
“I want to make it clear that I did not argue with anyone,” Conceicao told Sky Sport Italia.
“I hit the area of the bench where I was sitting after being substituted, but I did not have a conversation with any member of the coaching staff.
“I went into the dressing room to change my shirt, went to the toilet and then returned a few minutes later.”
He added: “I want this to be completely clear because I cannot accept untrue things being said.”
Celta Vigo took the lead in the 18th minute and held a 1-0 advantage at half-time.
Juventus levelled through Nick Woltemade in the 58th minute before Kolo Muani scored in the second minute of added time to complete a late comeback for the Italian side.
The result leaves Juventus top of the Europa League standings with six points, ahead of more than one team on goal difference.
