Peter Shalulile leaves Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns have announced the departure of Namibia top striker Peter Shalulile, bringing an end to a prolific and trophy-filled spell with the South Africa football powerhouse.

Shalulile leaves Sundowns as one of the league’s most consistent goal scorers, having netted 129 goals in the PSL and matching the tally of South African legend Siyabonga Nomvethe, underlining his status as one of the competition’s all-time great attackers.

During his time at Chloorkop, the Namibian forward played a central role in Sundowns’ domestic dominance and continental ambitions, becoming a key figure in their attacking setup with his pace, movement, and clinical finishing.

“From unforgettable finishes to iconic celebrations, Peter Shalulile gave the Yellow Nation memories that will live on for years to come,” the club wrote.

“As we bid Sha Sha farewell, let’s show him love as one of the best strikers in Mamelodi Sundowns history.”

While Sundowns confirmed his departure, his next destination remains unconfirmed, though reports strongly link him with a move to Libyan side Al-Ittihad SC.

The move, if completed, would mark a new chapter in Shalulile’s career after establishing himself as one of the most reliable finishers in African club football.

For Sundowns, his exit signals the end of a significant era in their attacking line, with the club now expected to explore options to replace his goal-scoring output ahead of the new season.
