Good news for Olympique de Marseille as their goalkeeper, Steve Mandanda, is expected to be available for the upcoming match. Mandanda had suffered a shoulder injury during the victory against AC Ajaccio, raising concerns about his availability for the match against Montpellier on Friday, which marks the opening of the 33rd day of Ligue 1.
However, Mandanda returned to training on Wednesday, and according to the club’s doctor, Sylvain Blanchard, his recovery is progressing well. Although Mandanda’s shoulder and neck were spared from rigorous activity on Thursday to avoid any risks, the medical team remains optimistic about his return.
Marseille’s coach, José Anigo, also expressed optimism about Mandanda’s availability for the match against Montpellier. He stated that a final assessment would be made before the match, but Mandanda should be able to play. However, if Mandanda is unable to play, Brice Samba is prepared to step in and perform if needed.
